The 1/70th-scale Saturn-5 replica from Apogee Components is a museum-quality rocket of the historic vehicle that took the Apollo astronauts to the moon in 1969. This particular kit is the largest version of this historic rocket that doesn’t require a special government waiver to launch. Erect it on your desk and it will nearly touch the ceiling! It stands well over 62 inches tall, 5.6 inches diameter and yet weighs under 3-lb at launch. It flies to about 420 feet high on a “G” size engine.
Several of these kits are on display in space museums around the USA. There is so much surface detail on the rocket, you can count the number corrugated strips and compare it to the real vehicle. You’ll be able to immediately tell that this was a model build for scale enthusiasts.
This kit features:
Highly detailed injection-molded Apollo Capsule, engine nozzles and escape tower.
7 Meticulously detailed vacuum form wraps
Eye-popping detailed embossed wrap for the transition of the 2nd stage to the Service Module
